Fr. Euikyun Carlo Jung, S.S.C. is a missionary priest from the Missionary Society of Saint Columban. He is originally from South Korea. He because a permanent member of the Society on Thursday, October 3, 2013 and was ordained as a Deacon on the next day. He became a missionary priest on the Feast Day of Saints Philip and James, May 3, 2014.
Fr. Carlo joined the Society in 2001 and studied philosophy and theology at the Catholic University of Korea in Seoul, South Korea. On September 2007, he was sent to Chicago, IL., U.S.A. for his further studies. He studied at the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and received Master Degree in Divinity (World Mission) in 2013.
Fr, Carlo arrived in Fiji Islands on April 15, 2011 for the first time until January 30, 2013. He was assigned to the country for his First Mission Assignment (FMA). While he was in Fiji, he spent most of his time for learning Hindi languages (both India-Hindi and Fiji-Hindi). He lived with Indo-Fijian Families in Sakoca, Suva and Karokaro, Labasa.After his studies and became a priest, on June 9, 2014, Fr. Carlo was assigned to Hyoseongdong Parish, Diocese of Inchoen, South Korea as an Assistant Parish Priest for a year.
Then, he was assigned to Myanmar from June 30, 2015 until September 6, 2016. He stayed in Yangon, Myanmar for his language study. He was the Spokesperson for the Myanmar Team of the Missionary Society of Saint Columban.Coming back from Myanmar, he spent one year in the Region of Korea for his transition to the Region of Fiji. He returned to Fiji on September 11, 2017. Since then, he studied Hindi language again until the end of the year.
Fr. Euikyun Carlo Jung was appointed to Saint Pius X Parish, Raiwaqa as an Assistant Parish Priest on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Currently, he is in the parish ministry at St. Pius X Parish and studies Fijian language.
